Case Details
NCOUC - Group 3
Missing or Unidentified Person
On January 28, 2009, Michael William Doane was living in Las Vegas, Nevada. He got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend and left home in his vehicle. This was the last time he was seen. At the time of his disappearance, Doane was a 47-year-old white male, 5'10" to 5'11" tall, weighed between 200 to 205 pounds, with short brown hair (a touch of gray around the temples) and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a yellow jacket and black shoes. He had several tattoos: a tattoo of a "Beatles Picture" on right shoulder, a tattoo of "Tazmanian Devil" on his left shoulder, a tattoo on his back of "Eagle" and a tattoo of "Longhorn Skull" on chest. He was depressed at the time of his disappearance because he hadn't worked in a long time and had been unable to find a job.
On January 29, 2009, a park ranger found his vehicle in the Desert National Wildlife Range, 40 miles east of Interstate 95 and Lee Canyon Road. Footprints led away from the car into the wilderness.
