Agency:NCOUC - Group 3
Case Type:Missing or Unidentified Person
Case Details:On April 6, 2006, skeletal remains of an unidentified White male were discovered in a wooded area near Interstate 66, close to the eastbound ramp to Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) in Fairfax, Virginia. A nearby small shack containing personal effects is believed to have been used by the decedent. Forensic anthropological analysis determined the individual was an older adult male, estimated to be between 55 and 70 years of age and approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall. Examination revealed significant lower jaw and temporomandibular joint abnormalities that would likely have impaired his ability to eat and speak, as well as arthritis affecting both ankles and the spine. At the time of recovery, clothing and personal items associated with the decedent included a green and brown striped polo shirt, a red and gray striped jacket, Lee blue jeans, blue gym shorts, a brown leather belt with white stitching, Nike tennis shoes (size 7.5), and a rosary-style necklace.
