Missing or Unidentified Person

On October 19, 2007, hunters discovered skeletal remains of an adult male in a wooded area of Freeman, Brunswick County, Virginia. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the decedent was likely a White or Hispanic male under the age of 50, with an estimated age range of approximately 25 to 45 years. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the individual’s height, weight, hair color, and eye color could not be determined. Clothing recovered at the scene included light-colored trousers with no tags, labels, size markings, or writing, featuring a metallic slide-type front clasp, as well as green trousers similarly lacking identifying tags or labels and also secured with a metallic slide-type clasp. Two black pens were recovered from the left rear pocket of the light-colored trousers; one pen was engraved “uniball micro,” with the cap embossed “Made in Japan.”
