Missing or Unidentified Person

On July 10, 1949, on Route 460 in Zuni, Virginia, a white woman between the ages of 30-35 or 50-55 years of age (possible NamUS discrepancy) was the passenger of a tractor trailer involved in a motor vehicle accident. The driver of the truck told police that he had picked up the woman at the intersection of Routes 301 and 460 on the outskirts of Petersburg, when she asked for a ride to Norfolk, Virginia. Her death certificate states that her body was burned beyond recognition. She is described as being between 30-35 years old and about 5'2" tall with brown hair, a small build, and was wearing a black skirt with a white blouse. The driver stated that she had a slight limp in her right leg.
