Missing or Unidentified Person

On May 2, 1989, an unidentified male infant, known as the Campbell County John Doe, was found deceased in a landfill in Rustburg, Virginia. The newborn infant is described as white, 1ft 8in long, weighing 6 pounds, and badly decomposed at time of discovery. Campbell County John Doe was a victim of a homicide that resulted from asphyxiation. He was full-term and born alive but had been suffocated. Following the discovery, investigators searched the area for additional evidence, they retraced trash routes, talked to school nurses and social service workers who may have had some knowledge of women who were in the late stages of pregnancy before May 2, 1989.
