Missing or Unidentified Person
On September 10, 2004, construction workers discovered skeletal remains in an overgrown marsh in the 4300 block of Powhatan Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia, and immediately notified law enforcement. Forensic examination determined that the remains belonged to an adult female, estimated to be between 30 and 55 years old, who was likely White or of Hispanic mixed race. She had been deceased for at least three years prior to the discovery. Dental records indicate the following: tooth #6 with facial resin, #17 with amalgam, #25 and #27 with partial missing crowns (postmortem), #28 with facial tooth preparation, and missing teeth #1, #3, #4, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16, #18, #19, #30, #31, and #32 with healed sockets. DNA evidence is available for comparison. At the time of recovery, the decedent was wearing a black jacket with red stripes on the sides, a green turtleneck dress featuring side ties and a zipper closure, a hooked bra, an undergarment (specific type undetermined), red socks, and white cloth-like tennis shoes with heart patterns on the bottom treads, along with a black hair wig.
