Agency:NCOUC - Group 3
Case Type:Missing or Unidentified Person
Case Details:On October 10, 2004, partial skeletal remains of an adult male of uncertain race were discovered in a wooded area of Roanoke, Virginia. Forensic analysis estimated the individual's age at death to range widely from 18 to 99 years, while other aspects of the biological profile, such as height, weight, eye color, or hair color, could not be determined due to the condition of the remains. The postmortem interval was approximated at about five years prior to discovery, suggesting the individual died around 1999. No clothing, personal belongings, or other identifying items were recovered at the scene, leaving the decedent unidentified and the circumstances of his death unresolved. This case remains an open unidentified persons investigation.
