NCOUC - Group 3

Missing or Unidentified Person

James Austin Yost, a 24-year-old white male, disappeared from Cumming in Forsyth County, Georgia, on January 22, 2007. At the time, he was staying at the Sun Suites Inn and had maintained a strict daily routine of calling his family, something he did ritualistically.

When those calls suddenly stopped, his family immediately recognized the behavior as highly out of character. Growing increasingly concerned, they filed a missing persons report on February 6, 2007.

Yost is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and approximately 185 pounds, with blond or strawberry-blond hair and brown eyes. Little public information is available regarding the clothing he was last seen wearing or any vehicle he may have been using.

In 2024, James Austin Yost was legally declared deceased. His case remains an open Endangered Missing Person cold case. Despite the passage of time, his family continues to actively search for him and seeks answers about what happened the day he vanished.
