She had recently sought refuge at a local Women’s Crisis Center to escape domestic abuse by her husband, David Dale Morgan (deceased 2018). The center’s employee reported her missing on June 16, 1980; David never filed a report and claimed she had left with a boyfriend. Multiple witness statements (now deceased) implicated David in her death and the disposal of her remains in the Nevada desert along U.S. Route 95.
