Case Details
NCOUC - Group 3
Missing or Unidentified Person
Julianne Cecilia Jaillet, 36, of Bellevue, Washington, was last seen at her residence in the Lake Hills area of Bellevue on June 1, 1985. According to her husband of six months, Ian Jaillet, the two argued and Julianne told him she was leaving; when he returned home she was gone, along with a suitcase and some of her personal belongings. Julianne's sister had spoken with her roughly a week earlier and described her as in good spirits and in the process of furnishing the home she and Ian had recently rented. Julianne's eleven-year-old daughter, who lived with her grandparents at the time, last saw her mother on a shopping trip to Bellevue and over pizza at Julianne's home shortly before the disappearance. Ian did not report her missing; Julianne's parents filed the missing-persons report on June 18, 1985.
Several weeks after Julianne vanished, her purse and some belongings, including her wallet, were found in a hotel lobby in Reno, Nevada, reportedly at the MGM Grand (now the Grand Sierra); a hotel employee mailed the items to the address where Julianne's daughter was staying. There is no record of Julianne having checked into or out of the hotel, and hotel security footage did not show her there. Julianne may have used the surnames McAdams or McQuaid. Her case remains open and unresolved.
