Missing or Unidentified Person

On July 30, 2002, the decomposed remains of an unidentified man were discovered behind a shopping center in the 8100 block of Sudley Road in Manassas, Virginia. The decedent was estimated to be between 35 and 50 years old, approximately 5'7" to 5'8" tall, with brown hair, and was described as white or Hispanic. The time since death was estimated to range from a few weeks to as long as six months. He was found wearing an Eddie Bauer long-sleeve green button-down shirt, Rustler jeans (30" length, 29" waist), Hanes dotted-print briefs, and size 11 Route 66 brown ankle-high hiking-style boots. Personal items recovered with the body included a black comb, two Giant brand AA batteries, a foam cover for stereo headphones, and miscellaneous coins. A keychain held a folding pair of scissors, a Giant Food Bonus Club card tag, and a CVS Care tag. The CVS tag was registered to a customer named Benigno Salguero; however, investigators determined that this individual was not the decedent. The unidentified man has at times been associated with the possible name Juan Garcia.
