Crime

In the late hours of 9/42025 into the morning of 9/5/2025, four occupied residential burglaries occurred in the Bayview neighborhood of Aptos. Several other vehicles were broken into and one of the vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee, was stolen. According to surveillance footage, the suspect acted alone and appeared to be a male with lighter complexion. The stolen Jeep was later used to facilitate a burglary at a jewelry store in Watsonville. The vehicle was recovered at the dead end of Harkins Slough Rd. Between 9/7/2025 and 9/8/2025, nine more residences were burglarized in the Tolak and Calle Serra neighborhoods. The suspect was captured on surveillance and closely matches the build and mannerisms of the prior set of burglaries. A vehicle was stolen from one of the homes and recovered the following day less than a mile away. Surveillance and DNA were collected.
