NCOUC - Group 3

Missing or Unidentified Person

On October 23, 1995, a farmer's dog carried partial human skeletal remains back to its owner after discovering them near an old barn in the 4200 block of Angus Road, a residential and urban farm area in Richmond, Virginia. Authorities were promptly notified, and the remains were transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for forensic analysis. Examination determined that the decedent was an adult Black male (possibly of mixed ancestry), with an estimated age at death between 34 and 68 years old (under 70 overall). His stature was approximated at 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 4 inches. Evidence of a healed jaw fracture from earlier in life was noted among the skeletal features. The postmortem interval (PMI) was estimated to be one year, placing the time of death sometime between 1994 and 1995.
