NCOUC - Group 3

Missing or Unidentified Person

On December 11, 1994, the badly decomposed and skeletonized remains of a full-term infant were recovered from a trash bag on a rural residential property near 5379 Zuni Circle in Zuni, Isle of Wight County, Virginia. The bag had reportedly been visible on the property for approximately one and a half years, consistent with forensic estimates that the infant had been deceased for about 18 months at the time of discovery, placing the date of death around mid-1993. The decedent was determined to be a Black/African American infant (possibly of mixed heritage) with black kinky curly hair. No clothing, personal effects, or additional identifiers were noted in available reports.
