Agency:NCOUC - Group 3
Case Type:Missing or Unidentified Person
Case Details:On March 6, 1993, the decomposed remains of an unidentified Black full-term infant were discovered in a dumpster on State Route 620 in La Crosse, Virginia. The infant, believed to have died about four days before being found, was determined to be a full-term newborn, 18 inches long, 7 pounds, with black hair. Due to the age of the victim, dental and fingerprint identification were not available, though forensic DNA (including mitochondrial and nuclear DNA) has been preserved for comparison. The circumstances surrounding the infant’s death remain unclear.
