Case Details:At about 6:05 p.m. on May 1, 2022, police responded to multiple calls about a shooting at the Pilot Travel Center at 2126 Ruffin Mill Rd in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers located one victim, identified as Keon A. Clanton, 35, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and learned a suspect vehicle had fled the area. Clanton, of the 17300 block of Old Stage Road in Dinwiddie County, was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A short time later, police responded to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of West Hundred Road and Route 1 involving the suspect vehicle from this incident. One suspect, identified as Darnell S. White, 32, was taken into custody at this scene. A second suspect fled the crash scene; this suspect was described as a Black male, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and wearing a white T-shirt and red gym shorts. Police continue to seek this suspect, who was seen on surveillance cameras in a mobile home community near the crash scene.
