Agency:NCOUC - Group 1
Case Type:Fugitive From Justice
Case Details:Lester Eubanks, born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1943, was convicted of the 1965 murder of Mary Ellen Deener and sentenced to death, which was later commuted to life imprisonment. In December 1973, he escaped from custody during a court-approved furlough in Columbus, Ohio and subsequently evaded capture, using aliases including Victor Young and Pete Eubanks. He has since lived under assumed identities across Detroit, MI, Los Angeles, CA, and Alabama, maintaining employment in manufacturing and janitorial jobs while minimizing his digital footprint and leveraging support from associates in California. Authorities have repeatedly renewed the search for Eubanks, circulating age-progressed images and leveraging both traditional investigations and OSINT methodologies to narrow his probable location to Southern California, where credible sightings and employment history persist. Despite ongoing national media campaigns, social media monitoring, and a standing reward, Eubanks remains at large as of October 2025.
