Missing or Unidentified Person

On November 21, 2009, a white male estimated between 35 and 50 years old was discovered in Kerr Lake near Crescent Lane in Clarksville, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. The body was floating in the water and showed signs of advanced decomposition, making visual identification impossible. Autopsy findings determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, and investigators are treating the case as a homicide. The postmortem interval (PMI) was estimated at about two weeks prior to discovery. The decedent’s physical profile was recorded as 5 ft 6 in, approximately 116 lbs, with unknown hair or eye color due to the state of the remains. Clothing and personal effects included Levi Strauss blue jeans (30 × 30), a canvas belt, and black Nike “Alvoid” tennis shoes. He was also wearing a white or yellow metal necklace. As a particularly distinctive identifying mark, the man bore a tattoo on his right upper arm/shoulder of a Doberman pinscher’s head with the inscription “CAPONE” above and “2-14-92” beneath the image.
