Linda Marie Law, 55, of Pierre, South Dakota, was last seen at her workplace in Pierre on August 16, 2002. According to case records, she became upset while at work that day and left; she has not been seen or heard from since. Her employer attempted to report her missing when she failed to return to work but was initially unable to file a report, and an official missing-person report was not made until 2007. Law did not keep in close contact with her family, but she had a pattern of calling on holidays and special occasions; her family received no further contact from her after 2002. She is described as a loner who had lived at various points in Illinois, Alaska, Washington, Montana, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wisconsin, and California prior to her disappearance.
