Missing or Unidentified Person

On November 26, 2011, a deer hunter discovered the skeletal remains of an unidentified Hispanic/Latino male wrapped in a blanket in a wooded area roughly 400 yards behind the Heavenly Hill Trailer Park (also known as Heavenly Hills Trailer Park) off State Route 612 in Stickleyville, Lee County, Virginia. The victim, estimated to be 28 to 38 years old, stood between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, had semi-straight black hair, and was possibly from Guatemala. Forensic analysis indicated he had likely died from blunt force trauma to the head months to a year earlier, with the manner of death ruled a homicide. He was found wearing a T-shirt, a hoodie sweatshirt, jeans (size 31/30), shorts, and a belt. Authorities, led by Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons, suspected the individual was a young migrant worker who had briefly resided in the trailer park alongside others in similar circumstances. Investigators interviewed acquaintances, collected evidence from the residence for forensic examination, and sought to locate potential relatives for DNA comparison, though efforts were complicated by deportations and lack of documentation among many associates.
